How to invoke methods

Get a reference to the treeModel attribute to access the API.
For example:

HTML

<tree-root #tree [nodes]="nodes"></tree-root>

  <button (click)="tree.treeModel.focusNextNode()">Next</button>
  <button (click)="tree.treeModel.focusPreviousNode()">Prev</button>

Or using a ViewChild:
